MOV’NTEC is working with the start-up Up & Charge, which specialises in induction charging points for electric vehicles. UP&CHARGE called on our expertise to develop their charging point to simplify the recharging of electric vehicles by eliminating cables and connectors. Induction charging technology requires expertise in mechanics and electronics, which is our speciality.

We are currently in the design phase. Up & Charge has asked us to produce three prototypes of power transmitters (the charging base) and induction adaptation kits (the receiver installed on the vehicle). Our team is doing its utmost to deliver the best possible result, and to guarantee its efficiency and reliability.

🔋 The direct current (DC) charging offered by UP&CHARGE is more efficient than alternating current (AC) cables. With only 5% losses compared to the 11% to 33% of conventional (AC) cables, this represents significant energy savings ranging from 6% to 28%.

💶 Investing in an Up & Charge induction terminal offers significant savings in terms of initial costs (CAPEX) and operating costs (OPEX). This technology therefore represents a profitable long-term investment.

⚡️ The UP&CHARGE bollard delivers the same power as a traditional cable, but bypasses the on-board charger, which generally limits the power delivered (e.g. 11 kW). As a result, charging is not only more efficient, but also more powerful. For example, a ZOE limited to 7.4 kW will now be able to charge inductively at 22 kW.

🚘 To date, no vehicle model is directly compatible with induction, but vehicles simply need to have an adapter fitted to make them usable with induction technology. All vehicles can be fitted with the same coil compatible with all induction loads, whether static or dynamic.

💪 The patented technology used by the UP&CHARGE bollard limits radiation to the lowest rate, (lower than that of a television), ensuring convenient and safe use for consumers.

🎯 When it comes to positioning the vehicle on the bollard, there are 3 solutions: markings on the ground, a mobile application for positioning and the patented UP&CHARGE bollard, which maintains 95% efficiency even if the vehicle is not perfectly positioned.
